If you’re looking to drop a few pounds and get in shape then cutting out sugar for weight loss is a must. When you eat sugar about half gets turned straight to fat, the fructose half that is.
It’s because sugar is made up of 2 molecules, 1 glucose which every cell in our body can use for energy. The other molecule is fructose, which our bodies can’t do much with except for our livers where most is converted directly to fat.
If you cut out sugar you’ll be eliminating a major source of weight gain.
Also all the fructose in the sugar you consume really messes up your body’s ability to regulate hunger signals. You never feel quite satisfied when you consume a lot of fructose.
You’ll notice that if you detox from sugar then you’ll start to feel much more full and for longer after eating meals. Some people go from eating 5-6 times a day to just 2 or 3.
At least you’ll only eat when you feel truly hungry and not because your bodies hunger system is messed up from fructose consumption.
Fructose causes leptin resistance.
Don’t know what leptin is? Let me explain. Leptin is a hormone that gets secreted by fat, and the bigger the fat cells the more Leptin you have.
Leptin is the brains signal to tell how much fat it has stored for emergencies.
So when your brain sees you have higher levels of leptin then it tells the body it has adequate fat stores and not to eat anymore. This is nature’s way of making us not feel hungry and to eat less, as there is plenty of fat stored in our cells. It’s basically our bodies fall safe to stop us getting obese.
Having increased Leptin also makes us release more fat from out fat stores and raises our metabolic rate.
This is what normally happens. But when you have a high fructose diet you can get Leptin resistance. That’s because fructose raises levels of triglycerides in the blood, which blocks the transport of leptin from the blood and into the brain.
This tricks the brain to think it still needs to keep on eating!
After I discovered this it made so much sense as to why I always felt hungry. This made dieting extra hard!If you detox of sugar first then start eating a lower calorie healthy diet it will be much easier to help with weight loss.
I hope that will give you a better understanding of why cutting out sugar for weight loss will work.
It’s not the easiest thing to do, but the results will be worth it. You’ll look and feel the best you ever have if you cut sugar, well I really mean fructose out of your diet once and for all!
